Hey all, I want to do a Master's of Engineering in ECE and I was thinking of specializing in embedded systems. According to the program requirements, I have to take 5 courses in total from the EE/general engineering selections (12 units from electrical engineering at the graduate level, and 3 units from general engineering, or electrical engineering. If each course is 3 units, then I can take 5 courses). So, my plan was to take the following courses: ELG 5197 (Introduction to Embedded Systems) ELG 6171 (Operating System Methods for Real-Time Applications) ELG 6174 (Elements of Computer Systems) ELG 6178 (Development of Real-Time and Distributed Software With Reusable Components) ELG 6186 (Object Oriented Design of Real-Time and Distributed Systems) Would these be a good selection of courses to take for someone who wants to get a job in the embedded industry? (My background is in physics, but I dabbled in the solar car team and that's how I got my interest in embedded engineering). From what I've seen, there are many opportunities for embedded software in Ottawa, and given that Ottawa has the coop option for this program, I felt that it was a good idea to apply here.

What are the different QA certifications? There are many certifications available in every industry to make sure that business entities observe the standard in quality. In the software development industry, most businesses recognize the ISO 9000 certification, the Capability Maturity Model Integrated (CMMI), and the Test Maturity Model (TMM). What is the difference between QA and QC? Quality assurance (QA) focuses on preventing any defective outputs, while quality control (QC) aims to identify the defects. Businesses are never complete without consumers. The former provides and the latter looks for the best quality. That's why you see so many manufacturing companies, construction firms, and call centers flourish. It is their quality assurance plans that enable them to go the distance when it comes to providing their consumers with the best quality possible. It's just like what war hero William Foster quote that goes, "Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, and skillful execution, it represents the wise choice of many alternatives. Osteoarthritis: A Common Joint Disorder Osteoarthritis (OA) is one of the most common disorders of joints. The joints most frequently affected are the hip, knee, shoulder, the big toe and the base of the thumb. Degeneration of articular cartilage, leading to osteoarthritis, can occur naturally over time with a age or as a secondary condition to an associated injury, such as a trauma or repetitive-stress or occupational injury. Articular cartilage degeneration is a gradual process. The findings from radiographic imaging depend on the stage of a person's OA. The doctor who orders the imaging will use the description and gradation of osteoarthritis ("localized or diffuse" and "mild, moderate or severe, " etc. ) to determine treatment options. Treatments include conservative, nonsurgical therapy or surgery. Nonsurgical treatments can include physical therapy, modifications to physical activity, oral medications and/or intra-articular steroid injections Surgical options include osteotomies or joint replacement.
