I currently drive a 2001 eclipse, been stranded waiting for a tow 3 times in the last 3 months (first battery, then alternator, finally mechanic found a wire that was broken between battery/alternator... that could have been the cause all 3 times) and there are other issues with it like it needs 4 new tires, passenger headlight is out (just found that out 5 mins ago), heat is weak and minor internal damage from when I replaced the heatercore 2 years ago in the winter. So I'm looking for a new car. A local Volkswagen dealer is selling a 2011 Jetta SE with 10459 miles for $14, 988 with some packages? not sure on the word. Heated/leather seats etc... minor details to me. I drive 34 miles a day, 5 days a week. Rarely use the car on the weekend as my wife and I use her car. Is that price ok? It appears good from the research I've done. I am kinda pressed on time as I'd prefer to not outlay the costs to repair the headlight/get brand new tires so I would take a decent deal. So is there anything wrong with the price, or something specific I should look for?
Hey everyone! I am looking to get a car and I saw a 2013 VW Golf at my local Volkswagen dealer. My family has bought multiple cars from them, so they are a trusted dealer. The Golf is a base S model with the 2. 5L engine, automatic transmission, and it has 55, 000 miles. According to the Carfax and our salesman at the dealer, the car has had no problems and it runs great. It does say that it had damage to the front left, but it isn't major. They are selling it for $9, 990. Is this a good buy for a first car? My family has had VW's for years and have had no problems with them. I know that others have had problems with VW's so I am not sure if there is gonna be any major maintenance in the future. Thanks!
So a little back story. Three weeks ago I got into a car accident. I was rear ended by another driver. My bumper was messed up (along with the bumper lights) and, as you can in these pictures, my exhaust pipe was bent along with box-thing next to it ( does anyone know what its called? sorry I'm honestly not that familiar with cars lol). So I got my car back last week on Friday from the mechanic and when I looked underneath my car to see what was fixed I saw that the mechanic failed to fix the exhaust pipe along with that box-thing (the first picture). When I asked my dad about it he said that my car works fine and that if I did want it fixed, it would cost $600 for a new one along with labor costs to pay the mechanic for fixing it. Technically my car does work like it used and their is steam coming out of both exhaust pipes. But I honestly don't feel safe driving around like that. Also, every time I drive over a bump or something the right side of my car makes a noise (I can't explain it) and it feels like the whole right side of my car is going to fall off.
I have it installed in my daily and love it. It was a bit more involved (back up cam, steering wheel controls, sun load relay, factory USB retention etc) but it was well worth it. I later upgraded to wireless AA and overall a wireless charger so I don't even have to plug in my phone it pull it out of my pocket. But to make it even better, if you car yes obdii you need to look into to obd2aa. There is also another one more tuned for VW and you can find that one by looking up obd2aa in this page as well. I have not tried it but it looks pretty but seems to pull directly from the canbus on VW or something. Can also be used with torque as well. But by no means in AA perfect. But it's much better looking than a phone mount

Hey there, I'm hoping everyone here can be of some help since the local Volkswagen dealer wasn't. I'm getting a CEL of P0010 which seems like it could be a few things such as a cam shaft position sensor, a VVT( variable valve timing) control solenoid valve, ect. I think I have an idea of what it could be as shown in the attached images. There's a connector just above and slightly to the right of the high pressure fuel pump[1] that has a broken connector[2]. The pins seem to be connecting but I'm suspecting that every now and again they break the connection throwing the CEL. I'm hoping that someone can look at the images and description and point me to the correct part or parts and could tell me what component this sensor is attached to. Sadly there's not a part number on the component. The only part number I can find on this piece is on the connector itself, which Volkswagen just says it's a "Cap" on their parts site. The metal piece the sensor(? )[3] is going into does not have a part number on it.
